Pollmann International GmbH, Pollmann Austria GmbH and Pollmann Werkzeugbau GmbH, headquartered in Karlstein an der Thaya, filed applications with the Regional Court of Krems an der Donau on September 1, 2026, for the opening of restructuring proceedings. The companies are being advised throughout the process by insolvency law expert Andrea Fruhstorfer.
The objective is to continue the companies' operations, with production proceeding without interruption. The subsidiaries in the Czech Republic, Mexico and China are not affected by the Austrian proceedings, nor is Maxxom Automation GmbH. All companies therefore continue their production activities without disruption. Given the large number of employees affected, the Works Council and the Chamber of Labour have been closely involved in the process.
The Pollmann Group develops and manufactures components and assemblies for the international automotive industry. Its products are integral components in vehicles produced by all major automotive brands.
The restructuring has become necessary as a result of the structural transformation of the automotive industry—a lasting shift that is currently affecting many European suppliers. While global automotive production continues to grow, the pressure is concentrated in the European market.
The company has already been undergoing a comprehensive realignment for some time. Measures include a change in senior management, the consolidation and relocation of operations from one site to Karlstein, the sale of non-operating real estate, as well as a structured investor process running in parallel.
For a company of this size, implementing a transformation and restructuring of this magnitude solely from its own resources is extremely challenging. As a result, the initiation of restructuring proceedings became unavoidable.
