Ensuring cleanliness in production processes requires concentration on specifically defined areas. This is the only way that contamination risks can be minimized or excluded. As a qualified tier 2 supplier for the international automotive industry, Pollmann has installed a production area for highly automated equipment in a clean room. In this specific environment, various components are produced which are used in transmission controls, electric steering and start/stop automation.

For the third time, Pollmann International presented a state-of-the-art product portfolio at the hybridica trade fair which focused on metal/plastic composite components. Many customers and prospects visited our booth and showed great interest in Pollmann’s high level of vertical manufacturing integration and global presence. This trade fair was another great success for the Pollmann Sales Department with a potential for many new orders and new long-term customer-supplier relations and partnerships.

The Pollmann sales team was happy to welcome many customers and interested parties to its booth. The productive discussions with potential new clients were especially rewarding. At this year’s Fakuma, insert and outsert technology was the topic of many technical discussions and also featured highly in the exchange of latest information. The primary focus of these discussions was hybrid applications with electro-mechanical components from Pollmann to be used as control units for electric and hybrid vehicles. All in all, Hybridica 2012 was a great success for our company

Component production using metal/plastics composite technology has become an integral part of the automotive industry. Reel-to-reel technology makes it possible to produce these punched and bent parts cost-effectively in large quantities using partial remolding.

With now 8,000 sqm of production area and more than 400 employees, Pollmann China established an annex building in Kunshan a few days ago. Almost four years after the plant first opened, its second production hall was formally inaugurated in a ceremonial event.
This expansion is a further milestone in the expansion offensive by Pollmann International in Asia and amounts to an additional investment volume of over 2.5 million Euros.

For the first time, Pollmann International participated in its new trade fair design at Fakuma, the international trade fair for plastics processing, in Friedrichshafen. Many clients and interested visitors came to the new trade fair booth which, in addition to interesting information and technical discussions, offered the premiere of the first Pollmann 3D image video.
Within the scope of a technical presentation on “Insert and outsert technology”, general manager Erwin Negeli presented the application of thermoplastics at Pollmann’s to numerous experts in the trade fair forum.

Pollmann has utilized the physical plastic foam process in its manufacture of parts for several years. The third production plant was put into operation a few weeks ago. The MuCell and Optifoam processes - for which Pollman conducted extensive comparative studies -are currently being utilized to produce plastic foam. In the future, Pollman will only use MuCell and will not develop Optifoam any further.

The first models with the successful CE certification DIN EN ISO13485 by TÜV Austria Services were already delivered. The manufacturing of the PSR shoe is the first medical technology product for Pollmann. For this project, Pollmann already received the Lower Austrian Innovation Price in 2009 in the consumer goods and product innovations category. This innovative product developed jointly by Pollmann and S&R Marketing supports the therapy for spasticity treatment of different etiologies.

Customers, partners, friends, suppliers, politicians, media and the general public visited Pollmann for its open house. This day was a complete success for our company, our employees, and all visitors. On the information pathway, we presented to our numerous guests spectacular technology, development and manufacturing details, information about our branch offices, what we manufacture there, which vehicles have our components and in which business areas Pollmann is active.
The highlight was a Porsche Panamera: in this luxury car there are two Pollmann components. It was shown where Pollmann components are located in the car.
Many thanks to the Austrian Armed Forces for the tasty beef goulash, and to the Karlstein Voluntary Fire Brigade who supported us with serving of the drinks.

The increased market demands and the company development of Pollmann International have now required this step in Austria as well. The associates of the family business, Robert and Markus Pollmann, are responsible in the future primarily for the operational and strategic orientation of the entire company with its locations in Austria, China, USA and the Czech Republic.

Lower Austria's member of the provincial government Dr. Petra Bohuslav visited Pollmann North America in Romeoville, Illinois in the beginning of May in the course of an economic mission trip. After a general reception and introduction, PNA CEO Andreas Reger presented the Pollmann product range and delivered insight into the world of the automotive industry from the point of view of a supplier. As a "highlight", after a tour of the company, Dr. Petra Bohuslav and GF Andreas Reger activated a new injection molding machine together for the sunroof mechanics product line.
