Pollmann has been consistently implementing systemic quality management for many years. This is a major success factor for all manufactured products.
In 1998, the company was fist ISO 9001 certified and regularly receives awards for exceptional quality performance from its suppliers.
The consistent implementation of results from the prototype and pre-launch phases as well as from the test and trial programs makes all manufacturing processes stable and capable. Products, cycles and test systems are routinely refined and improved through careful analyses.
The PPM-average of Pollmann in 2010 was <20ppm (client's requirement is <50ppm).
Delivery performance comprises the overall performance of suppliers with regard to quality, cost and delivery reliability.
Pollmann creates a weekly delivery note containing all customer delivery schedules (approx. 15,000 items / week). Planned delivery quantities are compared to actual deliveries in daily early morning meetings, and the causes of discrepancies are eliminated. Pollmann considers a quantity starting from one item plus or minus a discrepancy and one day a discrepancy with respect to the delivery date. Since Pollmann delivers free in many cases, shipping is also part of the company's responsibility. This means that when the hauler always delivers too late or too early for whichever reason, it impairs Pollmann's delivery performance as well.
The following quality tools are used in the course of the continuous improvement process (KVP) and based on Six Sigma:
