Special shoes with electrically driven knock pistons in the sole stimulate the soles on the feet and can be used as a therapy with Restless Legs Syndrome and other abnormal sensations in the legs and feet.

The PSR shoe has a sole containing a battery and an electrical motor. The motor moves 5 small tappets up and down and in doing so applies quick pulsations to 5 spots in the sole of the foot. That minimal stimulation is well noticeable and excites special nerve cells and areas in the brain.

Receptors in the skin transmit the fine impulses through the ascending nerve pathways to the sensory and motoric areas of the brain. Essentially only those regions in the brain are activated which are responsible for tactile sense and motor control.

Typical modern era and long-time illnesses such as the Restless Legs Syndrome or other abnormal sensations in the legs and feet can already be treated with drugs. Now, the PSR shoe provides an alternative remedy.
