Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Injection Molding

This position controls plastic injection molding processes to ensure scrap and productivity objectives are met, and drives operational continuous improvement activities within the molding department.

The ideal candidate possesses at least 10 years of strong manufacturing engineering background, is plastic processing expert for insert injection molds and has a proven track record of uptime and scrap improvements.

Scope of Duties:

  •  Controls and improves injection molding processes to hit production goals.
  •  Develops, mentors and coaches a multi-shift team of molding line technicians.
  • Analyses and maintains documentation to meet internal and customer requirements.
  • Makes plastic processing decisions for continuous improvement activities.
  • Coordinates with cross-functional teams like automation, maintenance, engineering and production for continuous improvement activities as needed.
  • Assists with approval process of molding tools and stamping dies.
  •  Coordinates and/or performs molding or tooling troubleshooting duties during regular production runs with the assistance of the line technicians.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, preferably ME or Plastics
  • Plastic Processing expert.
  • Knowledge of plastic processing equipment.
  • Hands On Troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of automated manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of systematic problem solving.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality tools & processes (APQP, FMEA, DFA, QFD, SPC, etc.)
  •  Commercial knowledge.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
