Project Engineer

We are adding a dynamic individual to our Engineering team. Main job functions and goals of this position are to manage production projects from inception to end of life and perform related engineering functions as needed.

The successful candidate has a mechanical engineering degree, is a project management certified professional, and is experienced with high volume component manufacturing processes for the automotive industry involving plastic injection molding, design, tool and die and automation.

Scope of Duties:

  • Manages programs from inception to end of life.
  • Develops project time plan, procedures, staffing requirements, and allocation of available resources to various phases of project; oversees budget.
  • Manages/performs Engineering functions as they relate to the overall production project.
  •  Acts as the primary point of contact to the customer during the project phase.
  • Prepares and presents project status to management or customer.
  • Assists with other engineering or quotation tasks as needed.


  • Degree in Engineering; preferably Mechanical
  •  Certified Professional in Project Management.
  •  5 years experience in project management for automotive component manufacturing and/or related engineering field (design, tool and die, automation).
  •  Experience with automotive quality processes (APAP, PPAP, FMEA, etc.).
  •  Experience with plastic injection molding and/or tool and die and/or mechanical part design.
  •  Proficient with computers in particular MS Excel, MS Project.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead teams.
  • Proven success in managing projects within timeline and budget.
  • Ability to cope with difficult situations and demanding timelines.
